The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs invites applications for a Transportation Assistant (Beneficiary Travel Assistant) at the Truman VA Medical Center in Columbia, MO.

This role serves as the primary contact for Veterans’ transportation needs and requires working knowledge of eligibility, reimbursements, and related regulations. Successful candidates will manage the Beneficiary Travel Program, determine eligibility, maintain records, and coordinate payments.

Formación

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4, or education as described, or a combination.
• Experience with administrative support, records management, and effective communication.
• Knowledge of travel programs, reimbursements, and federal qualification standards.

Responsabilidades

• Independently manages the Beneficiary Travel Program.
• Determines eligibility for the Beneficiary Travel Program and processes requests.
• Maintains manual and electronic accounting records.
• Responsible for determining method of payment for ambulance claims.
• Reconciles vouchers against authorizations prior to certifications.
• Receives invoices and submits documents for payment.
• Assists team during peak workload times and supports other work areas.
