Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) seeks qualified Veterans to begin a career as Kia Certified Service Technicians through a full-time position with a participating Kia Retailer.

The one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship leads to Kia Service Technician certification, with access to tools, equipment, vehicles, and training. Eligible Veterans may receive a GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and Retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and analyze/repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Perform services promptly while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor.
