Job summary

Kia VTAP offers veterans the opportunity to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician. The program is a one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship designed to lead to Kia Service Technician certification.

Participants have access to tools, equipment and training at participating Kia Retailers; full-time employment with a Kia Retailer; and eligibility for GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge required.
• Valid Driver's License from any state with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with Kia and retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose/repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Perform services and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
