Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers a pathway for veterans to become Kia Certified Service Technicians through a one-year competency-based apprenticeship, with full-time employment at a participating Kia Retailer.

Participants gain hands-on training, access to tools and equipment, and the possibility of earning a Kia Service Technician certification, supported by GI Bill housing allowances where eligible.

Qualifications

• Honorable discharge required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field required.
• Must be willing to pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with established Kia and Retailer policies and procedures.
• Test drive vehicles, and analyze, diagnose, and repair components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
