Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers Veterans the opportunity to become Kia Certified Service Technicians through a one-year, competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship with participating Kia Retailers.

The program provides full-time employment, access to all tools and training needed to complete the apprenticeship and certification process, and may include a GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the apprenticeship period.

Qualifications

• Honorable discharge is required.
• Valid driver's license from any state with clean record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and Retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose using Kia diagnostic strategies, equipment, and tools.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion and communicate with shop foreman and service advisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
