Job summary

Kia VTAP seeks skilled military veterans to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician, supported by Kia America, Inc. and participating Kia Retailers. The one-year, competency-based apprenticeship leads to Kia Service Technician certification with full-time employment opportunities.

Benefits include access to tools, training, and potential GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) during the program, designed to prepare veterans for a successful technician career.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical/mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.
• Honorable Discharge is required for eligibility.
• Valid driver’s license from any state with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components
• Complete repair orders and warranty request orders in accordance with established Kia and Retailer policies and procedures
• Test drive vehicles, and analyze, diagnose, and repair components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs promptly while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to ensure an optimal customer experience
