Job summary

University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Veterans Relations Support Specialist to provide administrative and program support for the Veterans Clinic's intake and referral process. The role includes prescreening veterans, guiding them through the intake, maintaining records in LegalServer, and coordinating with attorneys, students, and staff on next steps.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant experience, with preferred clerical and phone

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Clerical and phone communications experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for veterans; conduct initial prescreening; gather required information and documentation; explain the intake process and next steps.
• Monitor the intake pipeline; follow up regarding missing information, documentation, appointments, and outstanding requirements; ensure matters move through the established workflow.
• Create and maintain accurate records of communications with Veterans, including notes, statuses, documentation, and other data in LegalServer.
• Schedule intake appointments and callbacks and coordinate with attorneys, law students, and Clinic staff regarding pending matters and next steps.
• Support Tigers for Troops and other outreach events through pre-screening, scheduling, data entry, and post-event follow-up.
• Provide approved referral information and coordinate administrative referrals when the Clinic cannot provide assistance.
