The University of Missouri-Columbia’s Law department seeks an Office Support Assistant IV to provide administrative and program support for Tigers for Troops and the Pro Bono Network. You will coordinate outreach events, register participants, and manage communications with veterans, clinics, and partners.

Responsibilities include maintaining databases, supporting recruitment of volunteers and attorneys, preparing materials and referrals, and handling general office duties from 8:00 am to 5:00

Job Description

This position provides administrative and program support primarily for the Tigers for Troops Program in the Veterans Clinic, with additional support for the Pro Bono Network.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Coordinates Tigers for Troops rural outreach events and community engagement, including proactively identifying outreach opportunities and communities, researching and contacting venues, organizations, sponsors, and community partners; coordinating event schedules and logistics; maintaining the outreach calendar; and providing event and tabling support as needed.

Develops and administers outreach communications, registration, and event processes, including creating registration forms, surveys, flyers and other materials; promoting events; maintaining registration lists; responding to veteran inquiries; communicating event information to veterans, perspective client intake, Clinic personnel, and community partners; and completing post-event administrative follow-up.

Maintains and coordinates the Pro Bono Network for Tigers for Troops, including maintaining databases and trackers for prospective and active volunteer attorneys, referrals, and case status; communicating regularly with pro bono attorneys; tracking veterans awaiting records; following up on outstanding documentation; and coordinating routine attorney and referral follow-up. Provide administrative legal support as required.

Supports development and recruitment of the Pro Bono Network for Tigers for Troops, including researching Clinic alumni, former volunteers, supporting attorneys, and other prospective volunteers; maintaining current contact and practice-area information; identifying attorneys geographically located in or near communities served; preparing targeted outreach lists; coordinating professional outreach; and tracking responses and interest.

Provides general program support and performs other job-related duties as assigned, including coordinating CLE registration, materials, scheduling, and other related administrative activities supporting Tigers for Troops and the Pro Bono Network.

Prepares and maintains referral materials and program documentation, including organizing completed case materials, creating referral folders, preparing administrative components of referral packets and factual referral summaries from information already collected and reviewed, and coordinating related program records and materials.

Shift

8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some flexibility as approved by the Director of the Veterans Clinic

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Grade: GGS 006
