Job summary

The Transition House, Inc. seeks a Veteran Peer Support Specialist for the Veteran Connection and Suicide Prevention Program. This non-clinical, Veteran-to-Veteran role emphasizes trust, support, and community-based engagement to assist Veterans facing isolation, housing instability, and other risk factors.

Lived Veteran experience is required. You will engage Veterans, connect them to VA and community resources, and work with case managers and partners to ensure safety and meaningful engagement

Qualifications

• Lived experience as a Veteran is required for this Veteran-to-Veteran peer-support role.

Responsibilities

• Build Trust Through Peer Connection with Veterans.
• Connect Veterans to support through individualized service plans and available resources.
• Support participant safety by recognizing risk and following escalation procedures.
• Engage families and natural supports to strengthen recovery and wellness goals.
• Collaborate with case managers and VA partners to document and grow peer services.
