Job summary

The Transition House, Inc. seeks a Veteran Peer Support Specialist for its community-based Veteran Connection and Suicide Prevention Program. This non-clinical, veteran-to-veteran role focuses on trust, practical support, and authentic connection.

You will engage Veterans facing risk, isolation, or housing instability, using lived military experience to promote hope and engagement, while maintaining boundaries and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Lived experience as a Veteran is required for a Veteran-to-Veteran peer-support role.
• Ability to use lived experience appropriately and professionally to support other Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Engage Veterans through one-to-one outreach and peer support.
• Promote hope, trust, recovery, and continued engagement.
• Maintain appropriate peer boundaries and confidentiality.
• Coordinate with Case Managers, VA partners, and community resources.
