Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is hiring a People Manager for the NCI SSVF program in Danville, IL. The role focuses on intensive case management for Veterans and families, employing CTI, Housing First, strength-based approaches, and trauma-informed care to promote housing stability.

You will manage a caseload, coordinate intake and eligibility, and liaise with landlords and community partners to secure safe, affordable permanent housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a closely related field is required or equivalent training.
• One year of direct, full-time case management experience with Veterans or homeless populations is desirable.
• Knowledge of CTI, Housing First, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction is preferred.
• Experience with HMIS/SIMS data entry and client record maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management using CTI, Housing First, Strength‑Based, and motivational interviewing approaches.
• Develop individualized service plans within one week of enrollment with measurable goals and timelines.
• Maintain regular contact with Veterans via visits, calls, or video conferences.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify barriers to housing, income, health care, and community integration.
• Assist Veterans in locating and maintaining permanent housing, including landlord mediation and tenancy support.
• Conduct intake and enrollment activities, coordinate referrals, and verify program eligibility.
• Ensure client confidentiality and maintain electronic records in HMIS/SIMS.
• Collaborate with partners and service providers to connect clients with benefits and services.
