Job summary

Empower Mental Health is seeking an experienced, licensed Audiologist for a flexible, independent contractor role focused on C&P evaluations for Veterans. The position involves conducting VA-required hearing assessments, reviewing records, obtaining focused histories, and producing precise documentation without patient care duties.

The role emphasizes objectivity and adherence to VA guidelines, with no ongoing treatment or billing.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Audiologist license.
• Must have access to a calibrated audiometer capable of VA-required evaluations.
• Must have access to a diagnostic tympanometer for tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing.
• Master's Degree or higher in relevant field.
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
• Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols.
• Comfortable performing objective, fact-based evaluations.
• Comfortable Maryland CNC speech testing.
• Access to equipment such as SHOEBOX Audiometer, Interacoustics Titan/AT235, GSI TympStar Pro, Kuduwave.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P audiology evaluations for Veterans.
• Perform structured hearing loss and tinnitus evaluations per VA guidelines.
• Review medical records and examination information.
• Obtain focused history via interviews.
• Perform audiometric testing and documentation.
• Prepare clear VA-formatted reports.
• Provide objective findings without bias to claims outcomes.
• Submit documentation within required timeframes.
• Maintain separation between evaluation and treatment.
• Follow ethical, legal, confidentiality requirements.
