Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) seeks Military Veterans with mechanical experience for a full-time Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship. Participants gain hands-on dealership training leading to Kia Service Technician certification through a structured one-year program. Must have an Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service, valid driver's license, and willingness to complete a background check. The program provides a supportive environment along with a Monthly Housing Allowance through the GI Bill during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Must have an Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service.
• Experience in a mechanical or technical field is preferred.
• Willing to complete a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engines and electrical systems.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors for a positive customer experience.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Tools

ASE certifications or technical training
