Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education is required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor during stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills; willing to learn and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients for appointments or walk-ins and record visits in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Obtain weights, vital signs, collect samples, handle medications, and monitor anesthesia.
• Schedule, educate clients, relay test results, manage inventory and client records.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor during anesthesia recovery, and discharge when needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and support, keep environment clean, and assist front desk as needed.
