Qualifications

• Must have completed college or college-equivalent education to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor under stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and document visits in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, process lab samples, dispense medications under veterinarian direction, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, update inventory and records, and manage accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and care, including injections, IV therapy, and daily care as directed.
• Participate in training new staff and maintain a clean hospital environment.
