Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician for our Vetco Total Care full‑service hospital. You will assist veterinarians in routine and emergency care, perform patient handling, sample processing, and medication administration while ensuring excellent client service.

You will support procedures, monitor anesthesia, document in EMR, and help with training and maintaining a clean hospital environment. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred; strong communication required.

Qualifications

• College education is required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and maintain professionalism under stress.
• Must have telephone and computer skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and document visit in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, collect lab samples, and handle/dispense medications.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay results, maintain records and AR.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Train new staff and maintain hospital cleanliness.
