Cottleville Animal Hospital in Missouri is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist for full-time or part-time work at the front desk. We welcome candidates with strong transferable experience from human medical or hospitality sectors, and we provide comprehensive onboarding to learn veterinary workflows, software, and terminology.

You will greet clients, manage phone lines, handle check-in/out, and support clinicians with compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in front desk, receptionist, or customer service in medical, dental, urgent care, veterinary, or high-volume service environment.
• Proven customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience with appointment scheduling, multi-line phones, data entry, and payment processing or POS.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable learning new software and workflows.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Genuine affinity for animals and comfort in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients at the front desk with a welcoming manner.
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system; direct calls and inquiries.
• Perform client check-out, including payment processing and scheduling future appointments.
• Provide composed and compassionate service to clients experiencing anxiety or distress about their pet's health.
• Data entry and record-keeping in the practice management system per onboarding and training.
• Communicate with clinical staff to relay messages and flag urgent situations.
• Maintain a clean, organized reception and waiting area.
