Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to join our veterinary team. You will support the medical staff by preparing examination rooms, assisting with procedures, and maintaining cleanliness across the hospital to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment for pets and clients.

Responsibilities include restraining animals as needed, preparing in-house lab tests, and educating clients on preventive care and wellness plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray).
• One year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room and all necessary medical items and supplies for examinations.
• Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service and provide client education.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests as allowed by state rules and regulations.
• Monitor and improve comfort of hospitalized patients; exercise, feed, and clean cages as needed.
• Clean the surgical suite and instruments and maintain hospital cleanliness.
