Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to work with the veterinary medical team to provide and prepare for the best medical care of pets, ensuring a happy, welcoming and efficient experience for clients.

You will help maintain the treatment rooms, set up in-house tests, restrain pets when needed, educate clients on preventive care, and support the Client Services Coordinator as needed. This role offers a clear path for growth and ongoing learning in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles within self and team.
• Prepare the treatment room and necessary medical items for examinations.
• Set up fecals, smears, and skin scrapings per state rules.
• Educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans; support Client Services.
• Restrain pets during examinations, treatments, or inoculations as needed.
• Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests as allowed by state rules.
• Ensure hospitalized pets are comfortable; maintain clean, orderly kennels and facilities.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and assist with general duties as assigned.
