Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for inpatient care. The role requires 2+ years of inpatient RN experience and active RN licensure. ACLS and BLS certifications are required within specified timeframes.

The RN will float to Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs as needed and will participate in unit leadership training and cross‑unit collaboration to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• ACLS within 1 year — American Heart Association.
• BLS within 30 days — American Heart Association.
• Must have 2 years inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team.
• Completes initial patient admissions assessments and develops care plans.
• Implements and monitors plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Modifies plan of care to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Communicates with team to resolve issues.
• Provides feedback for peer development and collaborates with colleagues.
• Identifies learning needs and pursues appropriate solutions.
• Fulfills all departmental competencies.
• Floats to various inpatient units as needed.
• Provides direct nursing care and collaborates with multidisciplinary team.
• Documents assessments, diagnoses, plans, implementations and evaluations.
• Precepts staff as needed.
• Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team for high quality patient care.
