Checkr is seeking an Engineering Manager for Verifications to lead a growing team delivering scalable employment, education, and health verifications. You will shape architecture, drive AI-assisted development, and collaborate with Product and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements.

You will bring 4+ years of manager experience and 8+ years as a software engineer, guiding reliability across complex vendor integrations while enabling rapid, compliant product delivery for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as an engineering manager leading high-performing teams.
• 8+ years as a software engineer with distributed systems experience.
• Experience managing complex third-party integration environments and reliability.
• Track record of improving operational metrics in production.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and responsible adoption.
• Experience with regulated products where data accuracy and compliance matter.
• Strong incident management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to rapidly prioritize reliability work vs long-term product investments.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with Product, Operations, Compliance and leadership.
• Commitment to mentoring, career growth, and developing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Verifications engineering team with technical direction and hiring.
• Own reliability and quality across a broad portfolio of fulfillment integrations.
• Partner with Product to define and execute roadmaps for multiple verification products.
• Drive architecture decisions to scale a complex integration-heavy system.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Represent Verifications in cross-functional planning with leadership.
