Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, seeks an experienced Operations Manager for a premier sports and entertainment venue. You will lead day-to-day venue operations, oversee facilities, staff, security, and logistics to deliver outstanding events from sports fixtures to concerts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Hospitality or related field, 6+ years in venue ops, strong safety focus, budget oversight, vendor management, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as events dictate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
• 6+ years in venue operations management, preferably sports/entertainment.
• Proven ability to coordinate large-scale events and complex logistics.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, security and emergency planning.
• Experience with budget control and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage venue operation plans and procedures.
• Oversee staff training, scheduling and performance for operations, ushers and security.
• Manage facilities, housekeeping and technical services for safety and functionality.
• Coordinate with organizers and stakeholders for successful events.
• Develop and manage operational budgets and control costs for profitability.
• Enforce health, safety and security protocols across the venue.
• Manage vendor relationships for catering, concessions and security.
• Plan and execute emergency response procedures.
• Analyze post-event operations for efficiency and guest experience.
