Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Wilmington, CA to lead our vehicle processing center, driving safety, efficiency and continuous improvement. You will manage hourly staff, ensure safe, cost‑effective operations, and collaborate with OEMs and stakeholders to optimize outcomes.

3–5 years of frontline supervisory experience in related operations is required, with preference for railcar prep/maintenance. A valid license and strong MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years frontline supervisory or management experience in rail, automotive processing, logistics, manufacturing or related operation.
• Direct railcar preparation, maintenance or loading experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, and visual factory management.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and database navigation.
• Ability to interpret diagrams and repair manuals; valid driver’s license.

• Oversee Vehicle Processing Center operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for operational excellence.
• Meet and exceed performance targets while maintaining cost‑effectiveness.
• Mentor and lead a team of hourly workers delivering quality results.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders and OEMs.
• Lead daily rail operations including railcar prep, maintenance and loading.
