Job summary

The Miami VA Healthcare System is seeking an experienced RN Vascular Access to support the department’s vascular access program. You will insert and manage PIV, midlines, PICCs, and CVADs, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care within a VA academic hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication and teamwork, adapt to a growing medical center, and participate in ongoing professional development within the VA system.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with vascular access experience.
• Knowledge of peripheral IVs, midlines, PICCs, and CVADs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, insert, care for, and manage vascular access devices (PIV, midlines, PICCs, CVADs).
• Maintain Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD) and ensure patient safety during IV procedures.
• Follow SOPs for setup, cleaning, transport, and storage of Reusable Medical Devices.
• Communicate with patients and interprofessional teams to address venous access needs.
• Review charts for medical history, labs, allergies, and device placement.
