Job summary

The Miami VA Healthcare System Nursing Service is seeking an experienced RN Vascular Access to join our dynamic team. You will manage vascular access devices, provide expert IV care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Strong communication and adaptability are essential. Ideal candidates will have a nursing degree, current US RN licensure, and experience with PICC/Midline access.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required by VA policy.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ACEN/CCNE).
• Possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration in US state/territory.
• Foreign-educated nurses may require degree equivalency validation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage vascular access devices including PIV, PICC, and midlines.
• Ensure patient safety during IV insertions and device care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to plan and implement care.
• Review patient history, test results, and allergies to guide treatment.
• Provide patient education and prepare patients for procedures.
• Adhere to SOPs for device setup, cleaning, transport, and storage of reusable devices.
