North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA is seeking a qualified Head Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach to lead the program with a focus on skill development, competition, and a positive team culture. Qualifications

• Prior volleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the North Middlesex Boys Volleyball Program.

• Develop offensive/defensive systems and rotations.
• Maintain program standards and supervise staff.
• Evaluate athletes and determine team roles and playing time.
• Coordinate with assistant coaches on terminology and progressions.
• Support player development across levels and recruit for growth.
• Create an environment welcoming to new players and experienced athletes.

North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a qualified, motivated, and student-centered candidate for the position of Head Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach.

The Head Varsity Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, development, and culture of the North Middlesex Boys Volleyball Program. The successful candidate will provide a positive, competitive, and development-focused experience for student-athletes while establishing a program philosophy centered on skill development, accountability, teamwork, sportsmanship, and representing North Middlesex with pride.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, organization, and direction for the North Middlesex Boys Volleyball Program.
• Plan and conduct organized, purposeful practices emphasizing individual skill development, team systems, conditioning, situational play, and match preparation.
• Teach and develop fundamental volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, defensive positioning, and communication.
• Develop and implement appropriate offensive, defensive, serve-receive, transition, and rotational systems.
• Establish clear expectations and standards for student-athletes and coaching staff.
• Evaluate student-athletes and make appropriate decisions regarding team placement, positions, roles, rotations, and playing opportunities.
• Provide student-athletes with constructive instruction, feedback, and opportunities for continued development.
• Coordinate with assistant and sub-varsity coaches to establish consistent terminology, teaching progressions, expectations, and program philosophy.
• Develop student-athletes at all levels and establish a pathway for continued growth within the North Middlesex Boys Volleyball Program.
• Create an environment that welcomes experienced volleyball players while developing student-athletes who may be new to the sport.
• Promote effort, accountability, respect, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility.
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and accountability.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with student-athletes, families, coaches, administrators, officials, and opposing programs.
• Follow and reinforce the Athletic Department's communication protocol while encouraging appropriate student-athlete self-advocacy.
• Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including locker rooms and athletic facilities.
• Prioritize student-athlete health and safety and follow all applicable emergency, concussion, and return-to-play procedures.
• Manage program equipment, uniforms, volleyballs, nets, inventory, and other program resources in coordination with the Athletic Department.
• Assist with appropriate setup and breakdown of practice and competition facilities.
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Athletics regarding scheduling, transportation, facilities, staffing, program needs, and other administrative responsibilities.
• Attend required Athletic Department, league, and program meetings.
• Follow all North Middlesex Regional School District, Athletic Department, Mid-Wach League, and MIAA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Represent North Middlesex Athletics professionally and model appropriate conduct and sportsmanship.
• Perform additional program-related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous volleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience.

• Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, strategies, rotations, systems, and player development.

The Head Coach should be committed to growing boys volleyball at North Middlesex, creating opportunities for new athletes to enter the sport, developing experienced players to higher competitive levels, and establishing a strong long-term foundation for the program.
