Head Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach
North Middlesex Regional High School
North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a qualified, motivated, and student-centered candidate for the position of Head Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach.
The Head Varsity Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, development, and culture of the boys lacrosse program. The successful candidate will provide a positive and competitive experience for student-athletes while establishing a clear program philosophy built around development, accountability, sportsmanship, and representing North Middlesex with pride.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for all levels of the North Middlesex Boys Lacrosse Program.
- Plan and conduct organized, purposeful practices emphasizing individual skill development, team concepts, conditioning, situational play, and game preparation.
- Develop and implement offensive, defensive, transition, and special-situation systems appropriate for the program.
- Establish clear expectations and standards for student-athletes and coaching staff.
- Develop student-athletes at all levels while creating a pathway for long-term growth within the program.
- Coordinate with assistant and sub‑varsity coaches to establish consistent terminology, teaching progressions, expectations, and program philosophy.
- Evaluate student‑athletes and make appropriate decisions regarding team placement, roles, and playing opportunities.
- Promote effort, accountability, respect, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility.
- Build positive relationships with student‑athletes while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and accountability.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with student‑athletes, families, coaches, administrators, officials, and opposing programs.
- Follow and reinforce the Athletic Department's communication protocol.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of student‑athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including locker rooms and athletic facilities.
- Prioritize student‑athlete health and safety and follow all applicable emergency, concussion, weather, and return‑to‑play procedures.
- Manage program equipment, uniforms, inventory, and other program resources in coordination with the Athletic Department.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Athletics regarding scheduling, transportation, facilities, staffing, program needs, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Attend required Athletic Department, league, and program meetings.
- Follow all North Middlesex Regional School District, Athletic Department, Mid‑Wach League, and MIAA policies, rules, and procedures.
- Represent North Middlesex Athletics professionally and model appropriate conduct and sportsmanship.
- Perform additional program‑related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous lacrosse coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
- Previous head coaching, coordinator, or significant varsity coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, rules, strategies, systems, and player development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop student‑athletes with varying levels of experience and ability.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and develop an entire program and coaching staff.
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, competitive, and development‑focused team culture.
- Commitment to student‑athlete academic achievement, character development, sportsmanship, and overall well‑being.
- Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with families while supporting student‑athlete self‑advocacy.
- Willingness to collaborate with the Athletic Department and other North Middlesex athletic programs.
- Completion of all required district and MIAA coaching certifications prior to participation.

Salary: $5,989 to $6,825 Stipend
