Junior Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach

North Middlesex Regional High School

North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a qualified, motivated, and student-centered candidate for the position of Junior Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach.

The JV Boys Lacrosse Coach will work collaboratively with the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Department to provide a positive, competitive, and development-focused experience for student-athletes. The JV program serves as an important developmental component of the overall North Middlesex Boys Lacrosse Program, with an emphasis on preparing student-athletes for future varsity competition.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct organized, purposeful practices focused on individual skill development, team concepts, conditioning, and game preparation.
• Develop student-athletes with the goal of preparing them for future varsity competition.
• Implement the philosophy, terminology, systems, expectations, and developmental priorities established by the Head Varsity Coach.
• Work collaboratively with the varsity coaching staff regarding player development, roster movement, and overall program needs.
• Provide instruction and constructive feedback to student-athletes in individual and team settings.
• Teach offensive, defensive, transition, faceoff, goalie, and special-situation concepts appropriate for the JV level.
• Coach and supervise all assigned practices, games, and team activities.
• Establish clear expectations for effort, accountability, attendance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and behavior.
• Promote academic responsibility and positive representation of North Middlesex.
• Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including locker rooms and athletic facilities.
• Communicate professionally with student-athletes, families, coaches, administrators, officials, and opposing programs.
• Follow and reinforce the Athletic Department's communication protocol.
• Prioritize student-athlete health and safety and follow all applicable emergency, concussion, weather, and return-to-play procedures.
• Assist with equipment, uniforms, field setup, inventory, and other operational responsibilities associated with the program.
• Attend required practices, contests, coaching staff meetings, Athletic Department meetings, and program activities.
• Work collaboratively with coaches at all levels to promote consistency and development throughout the boys lacrosse program.
• Follow all North Middlesex Regional School District, Athletic Department, Mid-Wach League, and MIAA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Perform additional program-related duties as assigned by the Head Varsity Coach or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience.
• Knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, rules, strategies, and player development.
• Previous high school or competitive lacrosse coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively teach and develop student-athletes with varying levels of experience.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the overall boys lacrosse coaching staff.
• Commitment to creating a positive, competitive, inclusive, and development-focused environment.
• Commitment to student-athlete academic achievement, character development, sportsmanship, and overall well-being.
• Willingness to support a program-first philosophy and the overall goals of North Middlesex Boys Lacrosse.
• Completion of all required district and MIAA coaching certifications prior to participation.
