Qualifications

  • Completion of all required district and MIAA coaching certifications prior to participation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, organization, and direction for the North Middlesex Girls Tennis Program.
  • Plan and conduct organized, purposeful practices emphasizing individual skill development, conditioning, strategy, match preparation, and overall tennis development.
  • Teach and reinforce proper fundamentals, including serving, groundstrokes, volleys, footwork, court positioning, and match strategy.
  • Develop student-athletes in both singles and doubles play and provide opportunities for growth based on individual experience and ability.
  • Evaluate student-athletes and establish appropriate team placement, lineup positions, singles and doubles combinations, roles, and competitive opportunities.
  • Establish clear expectations and standards for student-athletes and coaching staff.
  • Provide student-athletes with constructive instruction, feedback, and opportunities for continued development.
  • Develop appropriate strategies for singles and doubles competition and prepare student-athletes for different opponents and match situations.
  • Promote effort, accountability, respect, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility.
  • Build positive relationships with student-athletes while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and accountability.
  • Create an environment that welcomes experienced players while supporting the development of student-athletes who may be newer to competitive tennis.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with student-athletes, families, coaches, administrators, officials, and opposing programs.
  • Follow and reinforce the Athletic Department's communication protocol while encouraging appropriate student-athlete self-advocacy.
  • Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests.
  • Prioritize student-athlete health and safety and follow all applicable emergency, concussion, weather, heat, and return-to-play procedures.
  • Manage program equipment, uniforms, tennis balls, supplies, inventory, and other program resources in coordination with the Athletic Department.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Athletics regarding scheduling, transportation, facilities, staffing, program needs, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Assist with maintaining safe and appropriate practice and competition facilities.
  • Attend required Athletic Department, league, and program meetings.
  • Follow all North Middlesex Regional School District, Athletic Department, Mid-Wach League, and MIAA policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Represent North Middlesex Athletics professionally and model appropriate conduct and sportsmanship.
  • Perform additional program-related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Salary: $3,340 to $3,979 Stipend
