Job summary

JYL Transportation, Inc. in the United States seeks a Full-Time Non-Emergency Van Driver to transport special needs children and adults to day programs, medical appointments, and community activities, serving as a vital member of the team.

The position offers a training rate of $20/hr and a driver rate of $24.41/hr, with an extra $1/hr for wheelchair routes. There is potential for full-time hours, and no commute since the van goes home with you, eliminating commute.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years or older.
• 3+ years of consecutive driving experience.
• Active driver's license with safe driving record.
• Enjoy working with children and elderly; patience and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all State and Federal traffic laws.
• Safely operate sedans, mini-vans, full size passenger vans, and wheelchair vans.
• Assist passengers entering/exiting and securing them in belts and seats as needed.
• Communicate effectively with special needs children/adults, parents, staff, and the elderly.

Are you ready for an extremely rewarding and fulfilling job? JYL is hiring Drivers to transport special needs children and adults to and from day programs, medical appointments, and around their communities. As a Driver, you will be a vital member of the JYL Transportation team.

Requirements

• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• Have 3 or more years of consecutive driving experience.
• Possess an active Driver's License with safe driving record.
• Must enjoy working with children and elderly, and always possess the ability to show patience and empathy.

What You'll Be doing:

• Safely operate a motor vehicle, in accordance with all State and Federal traffic laws.
• Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including sedans, mini-vans, full size passenger vans, and wheelchair vans.
• Safely assist passengers as needed. This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle's lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with special needs children/adults, parents, program staff, and the elderly.
