Job summary

JYL Transportation, Inc. is seeking Full-Time Non-Emergency Van Drivers to transport special needs children and adults to day programs, medical appointments, and community activities. Drivers are valued team members delivering safe, compassionate transport and comfort to riders.

Compensation includes a training rate of $20/hr and a driver rate of $24.41/hr, with an extra $1/hr for wheelchair routes. There is potential for full-time hours, and the van goes home with you, along with benefits like

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• Have 3 or more years of consecutive driving experience.
• Possess an active Driver's License with safe driving record.
• Must enjoy working with children and elderly, and always possess the ability to show patience and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all State and Federal traffic laws.
• Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including sedans, mini-vans, full size passenger vans, and wheelchair vans.
• Safely assist passengers as needed, including helping them enter/exit and securing seats.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, program staff, and the elderly.

What You'll Be doing:

• Safely operate a motor vehicle, in accordance with all State and Federal traffic laws.
• Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including sedans, mini-vans, full size passenger vans, and wheelchair vans.
• Safely assist passengers as needed. This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle's lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with special needs children/adults, parents, program staff, and the elderly.
