Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle area seeks a Fluid Systems Engineer II to support production and sustainment of valve components for New Glenn. You will collaborate with design, procurement, testing, and operations to ensure hardware meets specifications and design intent.

The role requires a BS in an engineering field and 3+ years in manufacturing or design, with knowledge of valves, GD&T, and FEA tools. U.S. work authorization is required and the position is on site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing or design engineering environment for complex mechanical or fluid systems.
  • Solid understanding of fluid components (valves, regulators, fittings) and thermodynamics/fluid mechanics.
  • Experience interpreting GD&T ASME Y14.5 and reviewing engineering drawings.
  • Strong collaboration and communication across teams.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Production and manufacturing support as first point of contact.
  • Disposition non-conforming hardware with clear assessments.
  • Collaborate across teams to optimize processes and designs.
  • Investigate design improvements for manufacturability, cost, reliability.
  • Develop and implement design updates based on root cause analysis.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturability reviews for internal and supplier hardware.
  • Use 3D CAD and FEA to analyze designs and modifications.
  • Prepare analysis reports to substantiate design changes.
