Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a skilled engineer to ensure the successful production of flight-proven valve components. You will become the go-to expert on design history, critical functions, and performance parameters, embedding with procurement, testing, and operations to drive improvements for high-pressure, cryogenic hardware.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in a related technical field.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing or design engineering for complex mechanical or fluid systems.
  • Understanding of valves, regulators, fittings; basics of thermodynamics/fluid mechanics.
  • Experience interpreting GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and reading drawings.
  • Strong collaboration across teams and inclusion culture.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on floor support to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Dispostion non-conforming hardware and assess via engineering models, drawings, specs.
  • Drive producibility optimization and path-fwd decisions with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead design-for-manufacturability reviews for internal and supplier hardware.
  • Use 3D CAD/FEA to analyze designs and document changes per ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
