Job summary

Designer Jobs is seeking a contract UI/UX designer to evaluate and critique AI-generated designs across interfaces, layouts, and motion. You will create realistic design briefs, use frontier AI design tools, and compare model versions to determine which performs better and where they fall short.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual) is required.
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Strong command of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• Ability to explain why a design fails, not just that it fails.
• Comfort working with AI design tools or ability to pick them up quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree (in-progress or completed) preferred but not required.

Job description

Work with frontier AI by bringing your real UX/UI design standards to tasks that need critique, judgment, and clear visual reasoning. This contract role supports flexible, remote participation from your own computer as you help evaluate AI-generated design work across interfaces, layouts, and motion.

What you’ll do

• Create challenging, realistic design briefs using your professional expertise.
• Run those briefs through frontier AI design tools and assess the output against the bar you would hold for a colleague.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, then determine which performed better and identify where each fell short.
• Critique AI-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
• Document concrete failures with evidence, including alignment and spacing, content overflow and cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across work types spanning software and interactive design, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

What you bring

• Fluency in English at native or bilingual level.

Contract flexibility and pay

• Choose which projects you want and when you work.
• Work remotely on your own computer from home.
• Hourly pay up to $75-$125 USD per hour, with bonus rates available on some projects.
• Payment is made via PayPal, and PayPal handles currency conversions from USD.
