DataAnnotation seeks an experienced Web Designer - AI Trainer to craft realistic design briefs and assess frontier AI design tools against professional UI/UX and visual design standards.

In this contract position based in Denver, CO (onsite), you will run briefs through AI design tools and evaluate outputs across model versions, focusing on quality, brief adherence, and design execution from both UI/UX and visual design perspectives.

Qualifications

• Fluent English at native or bilingual level.
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Strong command of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• Ability to explain why a design fails, not only that it fails.
• Comfort using AI design tools, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create realistic, challenging design briefs.
• Execute briefs using frontier AI design tools and evaluate results against the standard you would apply to a colleague.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, determining which performed better and documenting where each model fell short.
• Critique model-generated deliverables including interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
• Flag specific failures with evidence related to alignment and spacing, content overflow and cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across areas spanning software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

Role Summary

In this contract position based in Denver, CO (onsite), you will create challenging briefs using your professional expertise and run them through AI design tools. You will then evaluate and compare outputs across different model versions, focusing on quality, adherence to brief requirements, and design execution from both UI/UX and visual design perspectives.

• Pay: USD 75–125 per hour
