Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in California is seeking a Software Engineer to join our on-site team at San Diego or El Segundo. You will work within an IPT, following the full SDLC and using languages like C, C++, Java, and Python.

Travel up to 25% may be required, and a Top Secret clearance is required. This role emphasizes embedded systems, software integration, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver mission-critical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with the full software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with some of the following programming and scripting languages: C, C++, Java, and Python.
• Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented programming, embedded system programming, software integration and testing.
• Experience with two of the following tools: Jira, GitLab, Docker, Fortify, Coverity, or Black Duck.
• Active in-Scope, U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop software within an integrated product team environment and follow the full SDLC.
• Work full-time on-site at the San Diego, CA or El Segundo, CA facility with up to 25% travel.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure software integrates with larger systems and meets performance requirements.
