Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Embedded & Real Time Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software for mission-critical systems. The role is on-site in San Diego or Palmdale, CA, and requires working in Agile teams with multi-disciplinary partners.
You will work across the full software lifecycle, implement RTOS-based solutions in C/C++ and Python, and collaborate with systems engineers to deliver high-assurance software for flight and mission critical
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 12+ years of related engineering experience.
- Master’s Degree in STEM with 10+ years of related engineering experience.
- PhD in STEM with 8+ years of related engineering experience.
- Experience with the full SDLC.
- Experience with C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with real-time, flight-critical or mission-critical software.
- Experience with multiple tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
- Familiarity with data interfaces and RTOS environments.
- Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP/PAR.
Responsibilities
- Participate in full SW development life cycle from requirements to delivery.
- Develop and test embedded real-time software for flight-critical systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and test engineers.
- Work in Agile Scrum teams to develop software across multiple baselines.
