Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Climber to perform climbing, pruning, and tree removal duties with emphasis on safety and efficiency. The role requires prior climbing experience and the ability to handle storm-related assignments.

Qualifications

• At least one year of professional climbing experience in line clearance.
• Driver's License is preferred but not required.
• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal.
• Ability to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Ability to administer emergency rescue techniques and first aid.
• Familiar with electrical hazards and safety around conductors and aerial rescue.
• Able to work at heights in varying weather conditions.
• Must travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into brush chipper.
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all assigned tools and equipment.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area by enforcing safe practices and maintaining a clean work area.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
