Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a climber to perform tree climbing, pruning and removal under Foreperson directions in the field. The role involves loading equipment, operating hand and gas-powered tools, and maintaining gear while prioritizing safety for crew and the public.

Candidates should have 2–5 years of vegetation management experience, be able to climb with rope and saddle, possess first aid/CPR certification, and be willing to travel for storm restoration work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–5 years’ prior experience in vegetation management or related fields.
• Ability to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; lift and feed brush into chipper.
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all tools and equipment.
• Safeguard employees and public from hazards by enforcing safe practices and keeping area clean.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
