Job summary

United Utility Services is hiring a Lighting Technician to install, maintain, and repair lighting systems across North Carolina utility projects. You will work with technical teams to deliver safe, efficient lighting for communities and customers.

The role requires reading electrical diagrams, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work at heights. A valid driver's license and a high school diploma are required, with experience in electrical maintenance preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years as lighting technician, electrician, or electrical maintenance.
• Solid understanding of lighting systems and electrical codes.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiar with national and local electrical standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work safely at heights (ladders, aerial lifts).

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
• Interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams for projects.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment for safety and function.
• Diagnose faults in circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and codes.
• Operate tools and testing equipment safely during calls.
• Coordinate with supervisors to meet deadlines.
• Keep detailed records of work and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
