Job summary

United Utility Services in North Carolina is seeking a Lighting Technician to install, maintain, and repair lighting systems across our utility infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with technical teams to ensure safe, reliable lighting for communities.

Responsibilities include reading electrical diagrams, servicing lighting equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to work at heights, and a minimum of 2 years’

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience as a lighting technician or in electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Comfort working at heights and on aerial lifts or ladders.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
• Read blueprints and electrical diagrams for lighting projects.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment for safety and function.
• Diagnose faults in lighting circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools, testing equipment, and lifts safely.
• Collaborate with supervisors to meet project deadlines.
• Keep records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
