Job summary

United Utility Services in North Carolina is seeking a Lighting Technician to install, maintain, and repair lighting systems across our utility infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with technical teams to ensure safe, efficient lighting for our customers and communities.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years experience, ability to read electrical diagrams, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights on aerial lifts or ladders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience as lighting technician, electrician, or similar electrical maintenance role.
• Solid understanding of lighting systems, electrical codes, and equipment.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with national/local electrical standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work safely at heights (aerial lifts/ladders).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair electrical lighting systems, indoor and outdoor.
• Read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documents for lighting projects.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in lighting circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools, testing equipment, and lift platforms safely during service calls.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain clear records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
