Job summary

United Utility Services is seeking a Lighting Technician to install, maintain, and repair lighting systems across North Carolina. You will work with technical teams to deliver safe, efficient lighting for utility infrastructure projects.

The role requires 2+ years in lighting or electrical maintenance, the ability to read electrical diagrams, and a valid driver’s license. Expect physical work, elevated environments, and strict adherence to safety codes and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years in lighting, electrical, or maintenance roles.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work safely at heights (ladders, aerial lifts).
• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents for lighting projects.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment for safety and function.
• Diagnose faults in lighting circuits and controls.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools and lift platforms safely during service calls.
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to meet deadlines.
• Document installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
