Job summary

United Utility Services in North Carolina is hiring a Lighting Technician to install, service, and repair lighting systems across our utility infrastructure projects. You will read blueprints and diagrams, diagnose faults, and work with teams to deliver safe and reliable lighting for communities.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in lighting/electrical maintenance, knowledge of electrical codes, and the ability to work at heights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in lighting, electrician, or electrical maintenance roles.
• Knowledge of lighting systems, codes, and equipment.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Safety-focused with ability to work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
• Read blueprints and electrical diagrams for projects.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment for safety and function.
• Diagnose and fix faults in circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Follow safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools and lifts safely during service calls.
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to meet deadlines.
• Keep clear records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
