Job summary

United Utility Services is seeking a Lighting Technician to install, service, and repair lighting across utility infrastructure projects in North Carolina.

You will read blueprints and diagrams, perform inspections, and troubleshoot lighting systems while adhering to electrical codes and safety standards. The role requires working at heights and coordinating with project teams on schedules and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years as a lighting technician, electrician, or in electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with national/local electrical standards.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair lighting systems indoor and outdoor.
• Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documents for lighting projects.
• Perform inspections and maintenance of lighting equipment for safety and function.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in lighting circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools, testing equipment, and lifts safely during service calls.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to meet deadlines.
• Maintain records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
