Job summary

United Utility Services in North Carolina is seeking a Lighting Technician to install, maintain, and repair lighting systems across our utility infrastructure projects. You will work closely with technical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable lighting for communities.

The role requires at least 2 years of lighting/electrical maintenance experience, the ability to read diagrams, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years as a lighting technician or in electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with lighting systems, electrical codes, and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work safely at heights, including on aerial lifts or ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
• Interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams for lighting projects.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment for safety and functionality.
• Diagnose faults in lighting circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools, testing equipment, and lifts safely on service calls.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to meet deadlines.
• Maintain records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and hazard analyses.
