Job summary

The City of Hobbs is seeking a Utility Customer Service Representative to manage billing data, processing connects/disconnects, and handling daily payments using utility billing and meter reading software. You will review data entries for accurate monthly billing, generate bank drafts, and assist customers with payment terms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (preferred).
• Experience handling money and public contact preferred.
• Experience in utility billing preferred.
• Knowledge of utility billing software and meter reading systems.
• Ability to maintain accuracy in data entry and billing discrepancies.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office.

Responsibilities

• Review and perform data entry for connect orders to ensure proper billing.
• Update connects and disconnects to generate monthly billing.
• Separate and distribute all completed work orders for connects and disconnects.
• Ensure that all utility billing contains the proper billing information before monthly billing is generated.
• Enter daily adjustments within the current billing system.
