City of North Port is seeking a Project Manager to support delivery of capital projects in the Utilities area. The role reports to the Utilities Engineer and involves procurement, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external consultants.

Responsibilities include managing project budgets, tracking progress, preparing bids and statements of work, and ensuring compliant purchasing for CIP efforts. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of paraprofessional project management experience.
• Florida Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Municipal project management and construction management experience preferred.
• Experience with project management software (SmartSheet, MS Office).
• Basic ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project delivery and procurement support for capital projects.
• Create and use project management tools to monitor progress and manage purchase orders.
• Coordinate utility CIP projects and liaise with internal/external entities.
• Collect and coordinate construction inspection reports.
• Prepare and review proposals, RFPs, change orders, and amendments.
• Develop, implement, and oversee procurement processes for capital projects.
• Coordinate department agenda items for City Commission meetings.
