Job summary

The City of North Port, FL is seeking a highly responsible administrative professional to assist the Utilities Director in planning, directing, and coordinating the City’s utilities operations and long-range plans. This role works with considerable independence within policy guidelines and may act as Utilities Director in their absence.

Required education includes a Master of Science in a related field, eight years in utilities, and five years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Master of Science Degree required.
• Eight (8) years of technical or related work experience in utilities.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Utilities Director in planning, direction and coordination of the City's utilities operations and long-range plans.
• Act as the Utilities Director in their absence.
• Lead and direct department staff; exercise independent judgment.
• Emergency response responsibilities and recall during emergencies.
