Job summary

City of Cocoa is seeking an experienced Utility Account Coordinator to perform meticulous data cleanup and updates across customer accounts, property records and billing information in the City’s CIS. You will drive accuracy, resolve inconsistencies, and support ERP/CIS migration efforts.

The role emphasizes safeguarding revenue, coordinating with Utility Billing and Field Operations, and serving as a data quality resource during system transitions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with seven years of CIS/Utility Billing/Meter Inventory experience.
• Strong data accuracy and auditing skills in a utility environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
• Ability to coordinate across departments and communicate clearly with staff and customers.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable and IT systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed audits and cleanup of customer accounts, property records, and GIS parcel links in the CIS.
• Verify and correct inaccurate addresses, ownership details, and service classifications.
• Review and close aged work orders; coordinate with Field Operations to improve procedures.
• Archive outdated notes and document confidentiality and public-record exempt flags.
• Identify and correct billing discrepancies to protect revenue and ensure accuracy.
